ROD FAZEKAS

Driver: 1966 Chevy Nova NNFC

Rod is a race car builder, welder and fabricator. His custom work not only includes SEMA Show Cars and Custom Motorcycles, but also custom Homes! Rod was first introduced to the world of cars, motorcycles and fabrication by his father, Rodney, who was also an avid motor sports enthusiast and car builder. Fazekas began his career as a welder and race car fabricator at S&W Race Cars & Components. In 1993, he left S&W to open the doors to his first custom fabrication and specialty construction business. After twenty years of construction, he decided to return to his ‘roots’ by forming Rod’s Custom Fabrications, specializing in Motorcycles, Street Rods and Race Cars. Since his youth, Rod would always find time to go racing, working as a mechanic with AMA Pro Motorcycle Flat Track teams and as a 15 year crewman with Pro Race, Inc./Hanna Motorsports Jets. In 2009, Rod purchased the original 1979 Hanna Eastern Raider Nitro Funny Car (rolling chassis & body)  from its second owner. He painstakingly restored it to it’s original condition, making required NHRA safety upgrades. Rod campaigned his car as a BB/FC in 2011 & 2012. Now, he is building two Nitro Nostalgia Exhibition Funny Cars for himself & Jill to entertaining both New and Old-School FUEL Funny Car fans with trademark long & smokey 1970’s style burn outs! Rod was born, raised and currently resides in Pottstown, PA with his wife and their pets.
